My System Camera Journey

Following the poem, Road Not Taken by Robert Frost, I took a different route than most to my system camera journey. The Micro Four Thirds. Panasonic Lumix GF1 (will be referred to as GirlFriend1 onwards). Why I made the decision to take this route... I came from P&S cameras, so they all use LCD as their composition tool vs a viewfinder. So its only natural that the system I choose initially would also use LCD as its composition tools (in early 2010, no DSLR cameras used LCDs for composition, the Canon 60D & 600D come out only in 2011).

And what a journey it had been. But I made the right choice. My GirlFriend1 has been awesome. Still is. LiveView, AEL/AFL, RO3 guide, Manual Focus Assist are some of the great feature of this fantastic camera. Another great feature is its ability to accept adapted lens from other systems (Nikon-F, Canon EOS, Canon FD, Leicas, Minoltas & many more)...

aku sebenarnya dah lama ber'fotografi'... mula2 ngan kamera kompak film kakakku... x ingat jenama ape, warna merah menyala... itu masa tahun 80'an...

then, dpt beli kamera sendiri, kamera digital Kodak DC200... full specs here http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Kodak/kodak_dc200.asp... simply 1MP (1152x864 pixels, 3x optical zoom, 256MB CF Card)...

Next upgrade adalah kamera Kodak LS443... Kodak jadi pilihan ketika ini sbb mudah transfer gambar ke PC, kamera wujud sebagai external hard disk ketika disambung guna USB... full specs here http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Kodak/kodak_ls443.asp... ia adalah kamera 4MP (2448x1632, 3MP, SD/MMC, QuickTime video capability)

my next two camera is Canon's... masih ade lg... yg pertama, kamera 7.1MP powershot a710 IS... one of the best camera of its generation... kamera terawal ade IS (image stabilizer - kurangkan kesan gegaran tangan/kamera pada foto), 6x optical zoom (36-106mm - real size foto, maknanya @106mm, apa yg nampak @ LCD, itulah saiz sebenar depan mata anda) & SD/MMC... full specs here http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/canona710is/...

Kamera Guru, itulah kamera aku yg berikut... Canon Powershot SX10 IS (SeXy10 IS)... specs kamera here http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/specs/Canon/canon_sx10is.asp... specs kamera ni, sebahagiannya baru sekarang di'implement' secara meluas dlm kamera2 lain... swivel/rotatable LCD, 20x optical zoom (that's 28-560mm whopping but usable zoom), 10.0 MP, manual control for focusing, ISOs, WB, shutter, aperture, AE lock, face detection, self timer & many more... & specs ini pada tahun 2008, hampir 2 thn lepas...

klu org tanya kamera ape nak beli klu nak belajar DSLR, tapi x mampu nak beli DSLR, aku suggest inilah kameranya (@ SX20 SX40 IS, yg lebih terbaru)... boleh belajar konsep Depth of field (DOF), bokeh ( kualiti latarbelakang kabur), macro (max zoom + close-up filter), aperture setting (F2.8 - F8) & banyak lg... tapi ciri terbaik yg tiada pada kamera kompak @ prosumer lain adalah CHDK, kebolehan utk customize feature SX10 menggunakan software hack... boleh merakam RAW, live histogram, scripting & byk lagi...

banyak yg aku dpt belajar guna SeXy10 IS ni... langkah seterusnya D-SLR, or not... 8-))
